Bhutan Tourism began to expand in the year 1974, and is now, the most popular country for the tourists. This country is specifically famous for monasteries, landscapes, and fortress. It is located in the southern slopes of Eastern Himalayas and is the Buddhist Kingdom. This country is also known as the Land of Thunder Dragon because of the violent and large thunderstorm in the country. The Druk is the Thunder Dragon of Bhutanese mythology and is also their national symbol.
The center of attractions of this country is its capital, Thimpu and in the western city of Paro near India. The famous monastery is Taktshang also known as Tiger’s Nest.
Bhutan has also many UNESCO World’s heritage site, these include, Dzongs: the centre of temporal and religious authorities, Sacred sites associated with Phajo Drugom Zhipgo, Tamzhing Monastery, Royal Manas National Park (RMNP), Jigmi Dorji National Park (JDNP), Bumdeling Wild Life Sanctuary, and Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary (SWS), Ancient Ruin of Drukgyel Dzong.
