Assam Tourism is growing exponentially due to its unique location, It is located in the northern-eastern part of India, near eastern Himalaya. Its capital is Dispur and the largest city is Guwahati. Assam is also famous for tea and silk.
This is the only state which has conserves one-horned rhinoceros in India along with white buffalo. The One-horned rhino is very popular amongst the tourists. Apart from that Assam is also popular for Bird watching.

Tourist destinations in Assam are Guwahati, Majuli, Jatinga, Sonitpur, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Hajo, Haflong, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh etc. The most important river in this area is Brahmaputra river. The state is surrounded Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Tripura, Bangladesh and Bhutan. Assamese, Bodo and Bengali are the three official speaking languages of Assam at present.
